Our Story
After performing her master’s thesis* at Georgetown University, S. Lovey Parker came face-to-face with the data showcasing the barriers and opportunities that exist for Black owners of independent, boutique hotel and resort brands. With a desire to level the playing field for this EDM (emerging domestic market) segment and help it realize its untapped scale potential, S. Lovey founded the Black Hoteliers & Investors Association (BH&IA) and Black Hoteliers & Investors Retreat (conference, 2024) in October 2023.
